There are few more unspoilt corners of the world than the Dartmoor National Park in the south west corner of England. It’s a stunning patchwork of forests, rivers and open countryside, where the clouds cast moving shadows across rolling moorland (fun fact: Steven Spielberg filmed key sequences from War Horse here).
In short, it was the ideal location to shoot Swedish outdoor brand Fjällräven’s latest campaign, ‘Leave No Trace’. Though Fjällräven are best known for their iconic Kanken backpacks which have conquered high streets the world over, they are a wilderness brand at heart, and along with the guys at Outdoors Magic our mission was to showcase some of their more technical equipment whilst conveying a key environmental message.

We teamed up with TV presenter and survival expert Andrew Price for a hike through the Park. Along the way, Andrew explained best practices for enjoying the countryside sustainably, and demonstrated how to set up camp in the wild without leaving any signs of life behind.
My own role on the crew was to shoot stills for website use, as well as capture drone footage and steadycam video for the films. Check out the results below.
