Filson is a premium outdoor clothing company hailing from Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1897, it made its name outfitting prospectors taking part in the Klondike Gold Rush. These days it caters to anglers, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds whilst maintaining the same focus on quality, comfort and durability. In short: their kit is built to last!
“The concept was a two-part film explaining the basics of survival”
For this shoot I joined up with the guys at Outdoors Magic, who had been invited to produce a branded content series with one of Filson’s ambassadors, Thom Hunt. Based on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, Thom is a fisherman and bushcraft expert who has filmed TV shows across the world and now helps reconnect people with their inner caveman through his outdoor experience company 7th Rise.
The concept was a two-part film explaining the basics of survival, from building a shelter to making a fire using traditional techniques. With award-winning film-maker Richard Prendergast directing, my role was to operate the steady-cam and drone, as well as capturing stills for the accompanying articles.
